Misrak graduated with MPH from the University of Buea, Cameroon through the Intra-ACP: Strengthening African Higher Education through Academic Mobility (STREAM) scholarship from October 2013 to July 2015. Misrak also completed back in 2012 M.Sc in Reproductive and Maternal Health Nursing at the School of Medicine, Department of Nursing and Midwifery at Addis Ababa University. Her undergraduate background is Nursing with B.SC degree from Hawassa University that she received in 2009.
Misrak has worked as Graduate Assistant at Wolayita Sodo University and later as a Lecturer at Hawassa University. During the same time, she advised student research projects. Additionally, Misrask has participated in various relevant trainings and took part in data collection works for certain research projects. Currently she is working as a researcher at Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) at Health System and Reproductive Health Research Directorate and is also a PHD student in Public health at Addis Ababa University. In her stay at the institute Misrak has participated in the proposal write up, data collection, report write up and dissemination of different projects including Emergency Obstetrics and newborn care (EmONC), Service Availability and Readiness Assessment (SARA) and Mini DHS 2019.
