Lisanu Taddesse

Co-Founder

As the HaSET program director, Dr. Lisanu Taddesse leads our efforts to build capacity in MCH research, prioritize and conduct MCH research studies, and translate evidence to policy and programs in Ethiopia. With a background in pediatrics and public health, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in strategic planning, implementation leadership and research administration. His deep relationships with FMoH, policy makers, clinicians, stakeholders, and community members will foster strong collaborative partnerships. Prior to joining HaSET, he served the Ethiopian Ministry of Health in various positions including as senior advisor on the deliverology unit and child health team, quality and newborn child health lead at JSI, and lecturer in pediatrics and child health. He was one of the pioneer staff that established the Mekelle University College of Health Sciences and its referral hospital, Aydar. He holds an MD from University of Gondar, completed his postgraduate studies in pediatrics and child health from Addis Ababa University College of Health Sciences and an MPH from Addis Continental Institute of Public Health. He is a member of the Ethiopian Pediatrics Society, Ethiopian Medical Society, the RMNCH-N research advisory council and Grand Challenge Ethiopia task force.
