Delayehu Bekele is a Local Principal Investigator on the HaSET team based in Ethiopia. He studied medicine at Gondar College of Medical Sciences, did his specialty in obstetrics and gynecology at Addis Ababa University (AAU), and completed a fellowship in maternal fetal medicine at Saint Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College (SPHMMC). He also has a master’s degree in public health from the University of Gondar. He is currently working as an associate professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and maternal medicine specialist at SPHMMC. He provides clinical service at Saint Paul’s Hospital, teaches undergraduate medical students, and mentors ObGyn residents. He is also engaged in research activities and has 30 publications. He is currently serving as the president of the Ethiopian Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
