Dr. Abdulhalik is a public health professional with several years of experience in research and teaching in Ethiopia. He completed his PhD at Ghent University in Belgium, in November 2018. He also has an MPH degree with a specialty in Epidemiology from Jimma University and a BSc. degree in Public Health from Hawassa University.
Dr. Abdulhalik has worked for several years at Jimma University, at various academic ranks, where he was teaching basic and advanced epidemiology and research methods for graduate and undergraduate students. He also has collaborated with both local and international researchers in various multidisciplinary projects. In his recent post, Dr. Abdulhalik was working with Tufts University, Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy. He was the research manager for the Growth through Nutrition Activity, a multisectoral nutrition project funded by USAID, where Tufts was partnering to lead the research and learning agenda. He was leading the design, conduct, analysis, and reporting of all operational research under the project. He also is well versed in the application of various qualitative and quantitative methods to generate evidence for research and program monitoring and evaluation. In his professional career, Dr. Abdulhalik has published more than 25 research articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented his work at international and national conferences. With several years of experience in research, he will be a strong asset to our team. We are thrilled to have him on our team.
