Dr. Getachew Mullu Kassa completed his Ph.D. in Reproductive Health from the PAN African University Life and Earth Science Institute (PAULESI), University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He also obtained his Master of Science in Reproductive and Maternal Health Nursing from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia, and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Arba Minch University, Ethiopia.
He is a 2018 Impact Evaluation Fellow of the East Africa Social Science Translation (EASST) Collaborative at the University of California Berkeley and a member of the Network of Impact Evaluation Researchers in Africa (NIERA), Nairobi, Kenya. He also attended the Center for Effective Global Action- Berkeley Initiative for Transparency in the Social Sciences (BITSS), Research Transparency and Reproducibility Training (RT2).
He is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Reproductive Health in the College of Health Sciences, Debre Markos University, Ethiopia. He has published more than 72 research papers in reputable journals. His research interest focuses on reproductive, maternal, neonatal, child, and adolescent health. He also has research experiences in areas related to population and fertility issues, Family planning, infectious disease, and violence against women. In addition, he has interest in impact evaluation study designs, qualitative research methods, systematic reviews, and meta-analysis studies.
